I've obtained a copy of the letter Republican Chairman Steve Shine sent to Matt Kelty about the AFA ad. The images of the two page letter are shown below or you can view the PDF here

A liberal perspective on local politics

Jeff,
Thanks for posting this. I found Steve Shine's message of tolerance and diversity very refreshing and actually quite surprising. The pushback against Matt from Souder, Mike Sylvester, and now Steve Shine is making me realize that people in this community can look past party affiliation to the real issues and stand up for the good of all people.
I am actually surprised and impressed with Mr. Shine's letter...
I never thought I would write those words...
Mike Sylvester
I, too, have a newfound respect for Steve Shine. Imagine being in his shoes, having to drum up enthusiasm for such an impossible candidate as this one. He has grown at least a foot in my estimation of him.
Given the recent scourge of gay-baiting politicians and preachers caught with their pants down, this doesn't seem like a smart campaign move in any case.
I am in agreement with Mark Souder and Steve Shine in the same week.
What is the world coming to? LOL
Why is anyone surprised? These tactics have been the modus operandi of Republicans for years. But as water seeks its lowest level it gets picked up by a candidate with nothing else to run on.
Wow that was good letter, I hope they try to live up to it.
