WOWO Report on City Council Lockout

Joy Thomas' 4pm report on WOWO stated that Sandy Kennedy said people were free to enter the council chambers at any time. That statement, if she did make it, would be a flat out LIE - there is no other word to describe it. I cannot imagine that she would attempt to put forth such an argument when there were an abundance of witnesses and public officials that were locked out. Here's a brief list:

Kevin Knuth
Mitch Harper
Liz Brown
Rick Stevenson
Cindy Henry

I'm sure there are many more (Mark Garvin comes to mind) that would attest to the lockout. I don't want to go as far as saying Kennedy is being dishonest because I personally didn't hear her say that - I only heard the news report. I sincerely hope that this is not the city's official response...

I was not at the Council meeting Tuesday evening - I was going door-to-door in Glenwood Park.

Jeff,

To be honest, I was not locked out- I gave up my seat.

I only stopped by to see if the Smokers would get their 2000-3000 attendees.

I was sitting inside the room. Right beside the door.

No one was allowed to stand in the room. Absolutely no one was allowed in unless they had a seat.

One man was removed from where he was sitting a couple times by the Sergeant at Arms because of why? There are pictures of him becoming upset with the guard after being removed the second time. He was doing absolutely nothing wrong inside. Never made a noise, never bothered anyone, etc..

The doors were closed within minutes of the meeting starting and never reopened for the people outside to come in freely until the lawyer and big wigs walked out some 2 hours plus later.
