Jill Long Thompson's Fort Wayne Announcement

I was at Jill's gubernatorial announcement today and there was a crowd of about 100 people that seemed very enthusiastic about her campaign. I think she's going to be a good candidate as it sounds like she's going to run a populist campaign based around reforming our state tax structure and protecting Indiana jobs.

I know she's behind in the money-race but I wouldn't count her out as a populist message can be very powerful in this state...

Jill is an exciting candidate and it was great to see the crowd turn out to support her. She will be a wonderful governor.

What did she say about taxes and tax reform?

Mike - Quote: "And it is why I strongly believe we need tax reform. As Governor, I will call for a comprehensive review of the Indiana tax code, to modernize and overhaul so we can attack the crisis in runaway property taxes and other tax burdens that are crushing the middle class."

John:

I also believe in tax reform; however, and do not want the government itself to perform a "comprehensive review" of our tax code. I am extremely afraid of what they would come up with.

I want to know what Jill's idea is.

I am glad that she thinks that the entire tax system is garbage!

I also thank John Good for posting the quote.

I hope that Jill does run as a populist...

It was a great press conference. I took some pictures and will be putting them up at my blog.

Jill is behind in money and so is Richard Young. TDW commenters seem to think that Jill and Richard should stop their campaigns and get out of Schellinger's road.

I think the more people see and hear Jill, the more they will like her personally and as a candidate.
