Senator Bayh Right on Immigration

Well I certainly haven't said this much lately but Evan Bayh was right to vote against resurrecting the immigration bill for debate. This is a bad bill for American workers and especially for those of us in Indiana. We certainly need to enforce our immigration policies and secure the border - I have no issue with that, but the guest worker program is a terrible idea.

This program would create a never-ending flow of cheap labor that would only continue to suppress wages in this country. These same people would also not be eligible for citizenship while serving as guest workers so what do you think will happen when their visas runs out? THEY WILL STAY. That's the problem now; the 12 Million illegal immigrants we have in this country didn't all sneak across the border. No, many of them were here legally and simply didn't leave when they were required to.

And don't be fooled by the idea that we need to import workers for certain "high-tech" jobs. That argument is completely bogus. Most of these companies find any loophole the can to disqualify American candidates so they can claim they have to import foreign labor at half the cost. It's time for Americans to wake up and put an end to this nonsense. The Democratic party is helping to undercut the very base of people they claim to be representing. And for what? So they can gain votes. Selling out this country to win an election is the epitome of being penny wise and pound foolish.

Thank You Senator Bayh for your vote of reason...

Bayh definately voted the right way this time...

This Immigration Bill is one of the worst pieces of legislation in years. Especially despicable are the legislative "tricks" being used to force it down our throats...

Harry Reid is proving to be worse then I expected...
